SHCG: I like the shiny green. It reminds me of cats' eyes. It also picks up on the flourishes in the bg. The armchair kitty is such a cute piece, but I'd like to see it overlap the bottom right corner of the photo a bit. Also, I'd prefer the photo straightened and then have another mat (lavender) behind the photo set askew instead. I'm with the suggestion to move the title letters closer together. I'd add a welcome mat bg to it, or pillows of some sort, just to emphasize the sentiment. I can also see some lace somewhere. I like the simple design to this and the stamped date font. I love her name and am so happy she found a good, comfy home with you.
Wow, I love that picture! Great job turning it black&white! I also really like your idea of the kitties name in the photograph. The green in your letters and frame is also a nice touch. I agree with the other suggestions of slightly straightening your photograph.
SHCG: The colors bring a warm cozy feel to the page. LUV your flower embellishment and the chair cutout. My only suggestion is the angle of the photo is a little too steep for my tastes.
SHCG: The picture is very striking in black & white! I like how you put her name in the white space, and the shiny green is a great contrast! I would like to see the photo at less of an angle and Welcome Home brought in tighter so the feel more connected. Very nice LO!
SHCG - Lovely pic & color scheme. I was gonna say I adore that shiny green & wish I saw it more around the pic but I see that the photo matte is in that shiny green, marvelous! (isn't it annoying when our online images don't convey the real-life blingy-ness?!) The negative image is cool & dramatic. I really like the easy chair. The green/lavender flowers are perfect accents. I'm a fan of angled placement but I'm wondering how this would look w/ less of an angled pic or angled the other way (pic going upwards not downwards). I also think the flowers can be moved to the left side of the pic, as I agree w/ others saying the page is a little right-side heavy. Overall, a nice LO capturing a lovely moment... & great BWC response too!
SHCG: Nice! The photo looks really neat in pure black and white! I'd like to see some embelles to the bottom left of the photo, or even i you moved the sofa to that locaton to add some weight because the page really seems heavy in the top right side...i'm not sure if what Im saying is making any sense -I hope it does!
SHCG: You did awesome on the challenge! I love the way the photo turned out! Love the shiny green paper you used on the title and mat?! Also love the black shadow on the title! I have one little suggestion-move the flowers to the top left corner-the lo seems a bit right side heavy. I love the bg pp too and the chair looks so comfy!
shcg: great job with the challenge. The cat/chair embellie is an adorable addition to this page. Would love to read a the bit in your description about Persephone on the page.
This is in response to SHCG BWC #17 using a B&W photo and digital (if we chose to). This is a picture of my cat, Persephone, on the day we were bringing her home...she was a stray in Seattle and I adopted her. The color photo shows the Aurora Bridge behind her, we were in my sister's car. The colors don't show real well in this photo (although the W in welcome got some light) but the welcome home and mat for the photo are a shiny green, the welcome home is shadowed in black. The chair with the cat is in greens as well and has a lavendar cup on the arm. The flowers have a black and white flower on top of a shiny green flower with a lavendar brad, the lavendar flower has green brad. The date is stamped below the picture of Persephone. The background paper has blacks, greys and greens in it. This was a fun LO to work on.
