I couldn't resist including the big news of my pregnancy in this SB - the election. Journaling:
This was such a big month for us! First, e elected a new President. Speck, Daddy and I will teach you all about government when you're older, but maybe you'll remember - if only as a feeling - how excited we were on election night. Maybe some of my euphoria came across to you. Election night was a huge event that we celebrated with thousands of Germans and Americans in Berlin - and which signaled a change that we hope will mean a better world for you to grow up in.
Second, we had our next very detailed ultrasound exam. We learned that you were growing at just the right pace, and that you may be right-handed - you seem to prefer your right hand to suck on your thumb. But best of all, we learned that you were very healthy - and very definitely a little girl! We had already decided on your name: you are Pauline Elizabeth. Pauline is for Grandma Carol's godmother, Pauline Hansen, who was like Mommy's grandma. Elizabeth is for your Grandma Liz. Two amazing women whom you'll only know from pictures and stories, but who both would have loved you very, very much.
