My sentiments. Your room is beautiful, and love the newfound desk. What a great treasure. I have to emphatize with you on your comcast comment. Great room though.
I'm sorry....but this is freaking funny....your title that is :) I know the feeling. We've recently made the "change" as well. No real remedies from me either....just sympathy. Thanks for the chuckle :)
just got the notice in the mail today from Comcast that I'm going to have to get some kind of digital convertor box for any TV i want to keep watching -- urggh! now, i get what they were talking about.
If you do a search online under "decorative cord covers," you'll find all kinds of ways to cover or decorate your cords. You can even find them on ebay.
OMGosh, Sharon!!! Comcast did something similar in our kitchen....absolutely NO ATTEMPT to consider the way it looked.....what a bunch of JERKS!!! But CONGRESS gets the BIGGEST BOOBIE PRIZE for mandating that we HAVE TO HAVE HD!!! MORE OF OUR $$$ IN SOMEONE ELSE'S POCKETS!!! UGH!!!
I agree Comcast sucks! We have comcast cable internet. They wanted to DRILL a HOLE in the side of our house to run the cable along the outside of the house and through the wall. NO!! I made them run it in the upper crawlspace and tap down through the wall. LAZY!!!
I thought one reason to HAVE cable is to avoid the need for the digital converter box? We don't have cable, so we NEED the converter box (or a new digitabl TV) if we want to watch TV! It IS ridiculous!!
And to think there was a time when all you needed was one wire to plug in, no remote to go looking for and only three channels to enjoy. Hmmmm, kinda puts things in a whole new perspective. lol :)
Our cable company did the same thing - we had to get a converter box for every tv in the house. I think it sucks, too! And I don't have any ideas for you, but I do love your desk!
You could try either sticky velcro strips or some of those 3M command products to just adhere the box to the wall behind the TV, if it would fit back there. You could use a cord cover strip to hide the TV wire and paint it to match the wall, and use a power strip to hide the rest of the wires behind the desk.
Oh I'm sorry. Can you get some sort of electronics guy to hook it up behind the tv or something like that.. hopefully you can get this fixed.. I know how annoying it is too look at wires.
I still have this eyesore wire problem, which if anything has gotten worse instead of better since Comcast insisted we add a digital converter to the mix so we can continue watching t.v. Note how the box is hanging precariously off the side of the t.v. mount because there is nowhere to put it. I do have a cord cover that will hopefully incorporate this ridiculousness as soon as I figure out a way to house this *stupid* converter that I didn't want, didn't ask for and hate looking at. Comcast sucks. Okay, vent over. Thanks for indulging me.
