Snakes are rare in the UK, and although we have adders (which occasionally bite but can be treated with a shot of anti-venom) they like to hide - as do most snakes! So I was really excited when I came upon these two during my lunchtime walk around the lake near where I work. They are grass snakes - quite harmless, (I wasn't sure what they were when I saw them so my heart was beating a little faster!)and my main aim was getting some good photos - which I did!

This is going into the album that I am making for patients and visitors at the hospice where I work - which looks out onto the lake.

So grateful to have seen these snakes - they are so rare - and it was a first for me!

Loads of old goodies on this one - great for the spring cleaning challenge! I cut the snakes out by drawing them on the back of the paper.
