This is the BEST Baseball LO ever!! Seriously you got it all in there and totally captured the moment! We have a Friendly Confines Restaraunt/BAR near us....its totally Cubs themed and one of the bast places in town to watch baseball.
This is so good and I really can't wait to see/read the next installment! I do love the prominent red, white and blue without it being a dominant feature! super sports pages!
The Friendly Confines is a nickname for Wrigley Field coined by Ernie Banks.
This LO is from a game in July 2012. I have one other LO I want to do for the spring of 2012 that will document my position on baseball and the Cubs up to this point. It will be a journaling heavy LO. But in the meantime, this LO covers my first game at Wrigley in 18 years. Prior to this, I had only been to 3 games in my life, all between '91 and '94. Since this game, I've been to 7 more in the last 3 seasons, some at Wrigley, and some in Milwaukee, and I've seen Jeff Samardzija pitch 5 times.
I didn't bring a real camera - just my cell - and my baseball partner and I sat back in the shade, so I only took photos during the warmup. I have a zillion more pictures from later games where we sat in better seats and I had a better camera. The close-up of Jeff pitching isn't mine - it is a news photo from this game, though.
This is for the May Sports Challenge, and I did the twist to include action photos. Besides the professional photo, the two shots in the upper right are of Jeff taking warm up pitches.
The bottom photo is a panoramic shot I took with my cell. To print it, I cropped it into two halves, and used PSE to stack both halves on one 8x10 jpeg, then had the 8x10 printed. I cut the two halves out of the 8x10 as individual photos and lined them up on the two sides of the LO. Each half is about 3 1/2 x 10. I cut the Cubs logos out of my 2012 pocket schedule to use here. I put Jeff's name and number on the flags next to the shots I took of him standing with the Cubs' idiot pitching coach, Chris Bosio. I put the game score on the white flag in the bottom right - a 3-2 win over St. Louis. The middle piece of paper is my printed ticket. I cut the title with my Cricut and the Plantin Schoolbook cart. I outlined some of the photos with black Sharpie.
