I agree with Eileen, why not use flowers and butterflies. As long as it does not cross over into the land of precious (Christopher Lowell quote). Great LO. I love all of the punchwork and how you did the title.
this caem out great. Love the pic. Great border punching on the circle. And I think you can use flowers on a male lo -- just not to fru fru. I live in testosterone central -- I've got to use them somewhere.
I love how soft the colors are, and the "not a lot of fuss" she asked for means the focus is totally on those great photos. I like that you let the sketch inspire you rather than copy it exactly.
This is my DT Heritage project for my LSS for May.
My heritage class is a year long "create an album" project, with a double page 8x8 layout each month. This year, we've been doing a more masculine theme, as I have wanted to scrap my father's pictures. The picture on the left was taken around their 25th wedding anniversary and the one on the right was taken the day of their 50th. They were married in 1956, so this year will mark 55 years of their lives together.
I did the flourishes with some modge-podge + water + reinker + Pearl-Ex. When they were dry, I put a little crackle accents on them and finished them with some Perfect Pearls (Bisque color).
I love the elegant look to this finished page, but it wasn't really all that complicated in terms of technique.
I started with a great sketch from the April Monthly Sketch challenge. The sketch I used was the Week 3 bonus sketch. And I used the Bo Bunny Timepiece collection for the papers. Once I had those two things, the rest of the page just sort of created itself.
The flourish is from Sizzix - it's the BigZ original Flourish. They don't have this particular die here at SB.com, but it is part of the Sizzix catalog over at Sizzix.com. Just type the word flourish in the search box over there and this die should pop right up.
Thanks for taking a peek at my project. I'm having some productivity issues lately. It's not that I don't want to scrap - it's just that there seems to be so little TIME to scrap.
