This is the first thing I've scrapped since the beginning of this month! August is usually just a really nutty month for me. School starts and it's about all I can say grace over just getting my classroom up and running. I know things are about to settle down, because I managed to SCRAP this weekend, and actually FINISH a project, which means I've gotten my schedule back under my control. That's a really good feeling.

I'm not sure about the title for this. I ran across this quote and it felt like the right thing to journal. I think the quote is really talking about roots, so that's what I think I'm going to title this page, but I may end up changing it, so until I'm sure, I won't put a title on it.

Here's the quote, which I think I'll put on a little card and stick down in the lower left corner on all that white space. ;-)

To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time. ~Clara Ortega

The papers are Websters Spring Market, except for the flower which is some old Jenny Bolin micro dot. The leaves are from some silk flowers that were in my stash. The flower is cut from the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral, and the flourish is also a Tim Holtz die. The other images are from a CD of vintage images by LunaGirl.

The flower center -- that's an old vintage earring. I have a whole box of singles that my sister found in her estate sale travels. It's lots of fun digging through it for the "just right" one!

Thanks for taking a peek!
