This is DH and second daughter. She's almost two and he's 33. Gads, they're BOTH so YOUNG!
Tom went to Officer Candidate School for the US Army back in 1991. When he finished, he was stationed at Fort Benning, Georgia for his next training round. He was there for something like four or five months. Amy and I flew down for his graduation and then we all drove home together. While we were there, we took the opportunity to do a little day tripping.
We toured Savannah, Georgia - ate at the Pirate House (yummy!) - and then went on to the area of South Carolina where I grew up - Beaufort, Myrtle Beach, and Hilton Head. I was just amazed at how much development there was - I remember the whole area as beaches where the trees came right up to the surf line and there were miles of open space with nothing but sandy beaches and ocean waves.
We stopped at Hilton Head Beach - which was pretty chilly that day, and the jellyfish were EVERYwhere on the beach, but Amy still had a great time, playing in the surf and sand. I did not have a decent camera back then, nor was I a scrapbooker, so I didn't "think" photographs, I just "took" photographs.
These are only two of three that came out decent at all. I scanned them from the small originals, then printed them enlarged, and I guess they're not too bad - at least you can SEE them!
Done with the Graphic45 Tropical Travelogue Line. Flower is a Swirlydoos Tutorial. The fishnet is sprayed with some homemade shimmer mist using metallic paint mixed to a wash with water. Yellow flowers are from my own head...
Inspired by too many artists to name, but throwing out a big thanks to Lost Coast Scrapper. Her Relaxation layout really got me started on this massive project! Thanks, Karen!
