My mother and father in 1939 at the old farm house in Vera. The journaling reads "Ralph and Ruth ..., Vera, Texas, 1939. This is the house Mama and Daddy lived in when they farmed in Vera. Mama said they had no electricity until one day in the the 1940's, Daddy wanted to listen to a baseball game on the radio and wired the house for the occasion. She cooked on a kerosene stove. My two older brothers and I lived here until 1949, when we moved to Seymour. They had no children when these peictures were taken, but had my oldest brother, Benton, in January, 1940."
The small picture on the left I didn't find until just a few months ago...my youngest son looks just like my father in this picture...astounded me...my son is about the same age as my father here.
