Very interesting! Love the gemstones and the photos are terrific! So sorry about your Dad's passing. What a wonderful tribute to use what was such a part of him!
Wonderful LO, that is so special that you were able to use a cherished part of your dad's legacy on a page. !!The title is so creative with the stone holes I am so going to scrap lift this when I do my salt mine pages!!
Last of the 3 beginners classes. My friends were introduced to sanding, stitching, shaker boxes, using stencils to cut out title lettering, rubons, and charms.
Instead of charms, I used actual gemstones. One of the shakers have different kinds of stones stuck down, like Tiger Eye, while the other 2 have sand, gems and gold beads to represent digging for gold under ground.
This was one of the first Gold Mines in Johannesburg, and we were 742 ft underground! Gold Reef City is where the underground mine shaft tours happen. An amazing experience.
I got the gemstones from the few things we received after my dad died in 2007. He polished the small pieces of quarts and rock himself, then turned them into jewelery pieces. We only received a few stones, the jewelery long gone.
