Description: Journaling: The BEATLES, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, George Harrison and John Lennon, made their debut in the U.S. in 1964 on the Ed Sullivan show. I was 12 years old. Every- body in our school knew the Beatles were going to be on Ed Sullivan on Sunday night. By the next week almost every girl was in love with at least one Beatle. The Beatles were huge. They put out album after album and also starred in a couple of movies. Beatles memorabilia was everywhere! John Lennon was assassinated in 1980. George died of cancer in 2001 at the age of 58. At this writing Paul and Ringo are still very much alive (April, 2008). I still love to listen to the old Beatles songs.
