This is amazing, I to ride and have been trying to think of ideas to use on LO's with my horses, what a great job you have done here and Heidi and Kingie look amazing. (Such a sad story)
Wowowowow~! First ... what a gorgeous animal!!! And the page is fantastic, love how you did the title with those letters... BUT the story is sweet and then sad and at least it has a happy ending. Your journaling touches the heart and I sat here feeling like I was part of it all. Please know that the page is gorgeous. and like Kygirnfla (below me) thanks for not putting him down.,
girl...I love everyone of your layouts! cannot believe I haven't seen your work before! straight to my favorite artists for sure! love your designs and balance....this is no exception....your title work here is marvelous!
I LOVE the large photo on this. Absolutly beautiful LO. I had to turn out my show jumper due to ring bone. I know how heart breaking it is. But im sure hes a happy boy with all those girlfriends!!!
Wow, Kingie is a GORGEOUS horse, I can see why you are so fond of him. He looks very regal. The picture is amazing and you did a wonderful job with the lo. It's just enough to be beautiful but not too much that it takes away from the beautiful picture. I love how you layered the flowers and the hidden journaling/tag is adorable. TFS!
What a magnificent horse and the photo is gorgeous. I can see why you are so proud. I'm happy the horse is having a good retirement. Your layout is beautiful.
WOW...jaw-dropping wow! I LOVE that you used a large size of this photo on the LO. Really shows off Kingie's magnificance!!!!!!!!! The title is perfect. I love the rich colors you used, the layered flower, and the edge punching. I am glad you included some journaling to describe the events and share the story of love your family shared with him. Striking page :)
Cath, you outdid yourself on this lo! It is MORE than gorgeous! I love horses, and this one is simply beautiful! I love the little horse you added to the lo, too!
What a gorgeous creature! This lo is perfect! And no,it doesn't look askew at all!I feel the same way when I take my pix and they come out a l'il crooked. But this looks great! You should be very proud!
You didn't do just an OK job.. you did an outstanding job of displaying your dd and her horse. Beautiful horse, I'm sure he will produce foal that will stand up to his image. I am not familar with navicular disease.. would another term mean flounder? That one I know. So he is unable to ride now? Or just gets to have his ladies and enjoy the rest of his life being a daddy?? lol I'm glad it wasn't sever enough thatyou had to put him down. THAT is a sad day when that happens. I hope that your daughter is able to train with a new horse and keep her dreams alive as she continues with her passion.
Wow! The large corner bloom is really spectacular! Love the different colours and patterns that you mixed for such a stunning effect! The work you've done with the border punch is awesome (just purchase that punch btw, because of you I might add...) It's not easy to get the corners looking that good! The two different colours of chipboard in the title is so striking. Fabulous pic! Great job as usual!
This is so beautiful and what a fantastic picture!!! I love how you used the large photo to make it be the focus!! The embellishing really frames it so well!! Love the little added detail of the horse charm! Beautiful work! TFS!
The rich colours are wonderful! I absolutely love the glorious flourish, perfect title, stunning photo, and tasteful and lovely embellies! Your details are truly immaculate! I thoroughly enjoyed reading your beautiful story, too! Love everything about this spectaular LO, Cathy. What a treasure you've created!
This is one of your best. Just excellent and I love the story about this beautiful horse and your caring daughter. She was very proud of him in this photo. Great lo.
So glad you finally got to scrap for YOU! Kingmanship is the perfect name for this majestic creature! What a gorgeous boy! I can see why this photo of Heidi is one of your favorites. Beautiful job scrapping it and I'm happy that your confidence is up!! You are so talented it's hard to imagine that you would be insecure about your work, but I know what it's like to want to do a photo justice!! That's what makes you a true artist!! Thanks for sharing the story too!
Beautiful page and what a lovely horse! Nice to hear that he's living the good life with his girlfriends. :) Your daughter has a very nice seat too. No wonder you're proud!
My heart totally swells with pride every time I look at this photo of my dd Heidi and her horse Kingmanship. We bought Kingie (our nickname for him) when he was only six weeks off the track. She spent 18 months schooling him before she took him to his first show. He was amazing and had so much potential and we were so proud of him. This photo was taken at the Durban Shongweni Club at the height of his showjumping career but unfortunately and very sadly this show was to be his last. A couple of weeks after this show he started going unsound and many tests and x-rays finally revealed that he had developed navicular disease. We rested him for over a year and slowly brought him back into work but to no avail. He would simply go unsound again and we finally retired him. That was a very sad day but he is happily spending his retirement with a herd of mares on the farm in Bulwer. What more could a boy want? This is my all-time favorite photo of Heidi and Kingie and I've been wanting to scrap it for so long but never had enough confidence. I think it turned out ok. Trust me, it is NOT skew in real life!! There is a tag at the top right with hidden journaling.
