January-February 2006
After trying your hand at dance and gymnastics for a several years, this winter you decided to take a shot at cheerleading. We chose to do Upward Cheerleading through First Baptist Church in Hurricane due to the non-competitive nature, the Christian atmosphere, and the devotional lessons you received at each practice and game. You were a little nervous at first, but you quickly loosened up and showed your true gift of enthusiasm. And, although we are constantly telling you to settle down and talk more softly at home, we were surprised to find ourselves having to tell you to “yell LOUDER” at the games! You had a wonderful coach, Wendy Bradley, who was very energetic, kind, and supportive. She made all the games and practices so much fun! We couldn’t have asked for a better first cheerleading experience…and you are already asking about cheering again next year!
