for the cosmo cricket challenge. i used halfway cafe cardstock: Oklahoma City and Kingman. I also used the little chipboard piece from the Wanted line.
i took these pictures at the Oklahoma Memorial Site. It was very moving to be there. Wrote this poem:
I Saw God Today
I saw God today and wondered why
He covered his eyes and began to cry
What makes You sad and tears to fall?
With all Your power, why cry at all?
My child, My child, why can't you see,
How much My children worry Me?
You fight and hate, and even worse,
You kill each other without remorse.
You see this site behind My back?
A monument to a mad attack.
And what was gained with so much lost?
For still My children bear the cost.
I cry because you will not learn
That peace won't come when hatred burns
I weep for all that have to die
When man forgets to look on high.
God looked at me with tear-stained eyes,
And said, “ I hope you realize,
I cry for you, my child, as well
For hatred can create a hell.
Love now, love hard, and don't forget,
To love Me too, with no regret.”
With that, I left His side once more
So saddened than I was before
His tears had moved my hardened heart
I swore that I would do my part
To love Him more, and spread His word
I sent my prayer and hope He heard
I saw God today
