Made for the Round Robin being held at The Flying Unicorn... Following Tammy and Debbie's gorgeous layouts was a challenge and I had been tossing out idea after idea when my Unicorn kit arrived. One look at the patterned paper, one more look at the Dream Team entries and I suddenly remembered this photo that I had actually scrapped about 1-1/2 years ago.
In May of 2010, I was at a scrappy camp in Baily, CO. This is a tiny town in the Rockies. With an elevation of over 7700 feet, Spring as we know it comes a lot later than we're used to. The trees and bushes had just started to bud and one of our younger ladies got to enjoy her first snowfall. Hence the title.
Except for the book pages (thanks, Maggi, for those and for the burlap!), all paper along with the fence are from the April KOM. The trees are grungeboard cut with one of my favorite Timmy dies, painted with gesso, covered with Magical Micas, and heat dried until the gesso started to bubble. The ribbon is actually seam binding that I dragged through the ink that was left on my craft sheet after misting all of the flower parts.
Thanks so much to Tammy for the invite; this one was a pleasure to do!!!!
