Description: The scan cut off the top and bottom of my LO as usual. Please excuse that. There is a narrow border of black on the top and bottom. This week (in honor of Halloween) we had to do a LO about a mask or using the masking technique. I chose to use the masking technique since I hadn't used it in a long time. I actually LOVE how this LO turned out! I stamped letters then cut them out and temporarily put them on the orange/yellow patterned paper. Then I used a foam brush and MM scrapbook paints and painted over the letters. When I removed the letters, it allowed the orange/yellow patterned paper to show through while giving the letters a border of black and purple. I then adhered the masked letters to white cardstock to create my title. There is hidden journaling on the tag tucked behind the photo. It reads: October 31, 2006 – As a general rule I never allow the children to dress up for Halloween in any costumes that are spooky, creepy, or resemble the supernatural. However, Claire found this really cute witch costume and begged me to buy it. She had wanted to be a witch several times and I had never let her. This year we waited until the last minute to get a costume so the choices were pretty limited. I finally agreed to allow her to be a witch. Then I saw the orange hair paint and thought that could look pretty cool. As it turned out, Claire made an adorable witch. There was nothing spooky or scary about her! And we all agree that she looks darling with ORANGE HAIR! Who would’ve thought…?
