Beauty in the Daily Dose of Dishes!

Hey, hey, hey! It's another Happy Friday and I am so excited to see this weekend come! It's been a super crazy week for me and I'm ready to chill! But anyway, our challenge at Stuck on U Sketches this week is to use an UNUSUAL ITEM on our layout .. one that we've never used before. My mind spun around with so many good ideas for this one but I had a little keepsake that I was wanted to scrap anyway and decided that it qualified!


This was a dish cloth that Grandma Clara crocheted many year ago and gave to my Mom. It is shaped like a little sundress. Well, the first time I saw Mom twirling this thing around in the dish water, I protested that it was much too pretty for washing dishes. So ... my Mom indulged me and put it away. I don't remember ever seeing it again until a few weeks ago when going through my Mother's things. It was in a drawer with some of Grandma's other crochet pieces. What a flood of memories came rushing back .. of evenings spent with Mom ... us talking and doing the dishes together. I would tell her about my day at school, about the homework that awaited me, the boy that pestered me .. just stuff. Over the years of course, we've done lots of dishes together .. with the same results ... great girl talk and squeaky clean dishes. So, even though this brought lots of tears this week, it was for happy memories that I'd forgotten.
