It's so hard when your parents get to that stage of life. They were the caregivers for so long and then the tables are turned. We had to put my mom in a home shortly before she passed. She was 87 and falling a lot and just couldn't continue living alone. (I live next door, but she needed professional care) Such a hard decision to make. I will be thinking of you.
very endearing and touching page cindy, am so sorry your darling is unwell and hope his rehab all goes ok..sending get well wishes for him and praying he has a speedy recovery...xo
I've included you and your dad in my daily compassionate meditation to send you all the positive energy you need so much in this difficult time.
Your lo is heart wrenching and touching.
My heart goes out to you.
Cindy, prayers and positive toughts your way...Hope he will do ok. Your post bring tears to my eyes. Hubbie just lost his parents, September and October. :(
Cindy, this is the most loving lo of gratefulness to your parents. I look at your Dad and can see all the love your family has for him. I will pray every night for your family, and say a little extra for your Dad. God be with you....you are not alone we are all here for you!!!
So sorry to learn this distressing news, and I will keep your Dad and Mom and family in my thoughts and prayers. So very hard to work through this. And a very touching page you have made, it brought tears to my eyes. The title is perfect.
My Dad is failing and my Mom and brother can no longer take care of him in their home. Mom and Dad have been married for 68 years. Last Friday, he fell on her and was readmitted into the hospital the day after Thanksgiving. (She is ok). Dad will go to a home for rehab and perhaps make it home again.
This picture was taken Wednesday when I made the trip home and took Mom to see him. The aide had shaved him and he was eating pretty good. The aide said she wanted to take him home with her. Even when he was taken to the hospital in the ambulance, he had to have his New York Yankee hat on.
This post is not to make anyone feel sad, though I'll put the page away for a while myself. Dad and I spent several hours together in the ER last Friday. He is scared. The post is to ask for your prayers for Dad and Mom and yes, the family. I'm 80 miles from home myself.
On the trip over Wednesday, I played Christmas CDs. Judy Garland sang "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" and these words are from that. We'll muddle through somehow.
I'm on my way home, then to the hospital. Mom doesn't want to go today as she knows Dad would rather be home. Good thoughts are appreciated.
