"To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time."

This is a photo of my brother and I, taken at Christmas time, in 2010, the last time I was back in Australia. There is only 3 years between us and even though we live in different parts of the world, separated by time zones and hemispheres, many miles and an ocean, we are still very close. I'm very proud of the man he has grown into and I love him dearly. He's not just a brother to me, he's a great friend too. I couldn't think of anyone else that I would rather have grown up with, than him.
I love the above quote by Carla Ortega, it captures perfectly what being siblings is all about.
