I appreciate your explaining the techniques that you used here - fabulous work. Gorgeous butterfly (Your long distance relationship mimics our son & daughter-in-laws long distance relationship; phone calls, SKYPE, plane trips - but it worked for them too. I hope you include this personal story in a hidden journal behind this LO for future generations. It's a story worth telling.)
Gorgeous page!!!! Those beautiful blues and greens remind me of sea glass, so this really is such a perfect title. Love the story behind it too! I think it is an excellent page!!!! Fav!
I screwed up on this one, but I'm posting it anyways because I worked really hard on it and it means a lot to me. The title "am i made of glass?" is after the Trapt song "made of glass". the follow up line is "'cause you see right through me". This is a tribute to my love Charles, because it is oh so true. He can see right though me. I suppose it's because we endured a long distance relationship for over 2 years. He lived in Dallas, TX while I lived in Fargo, ND. We got to know each other sooo well because all we had was the telephone and skype. We saw each other every 3 months. One stretch was 5 months, and a couple of times there was a only a couple of week between visits. It was a very challenging time in my life. Because we talked ALL the time, he knew what was up with me just by the tone of my voice, and still does. Where do I even begin with this one? I used so many different products and techniques. I'll start with the background. I used an 81/2 x 11 transparency and stamped on it using some of my favorite stamps. After all the stamped images dried I used Tim Holtz alcohol inks to add various colors of greens/blues. The smaller photo you see of Charles and I is altered using Tim Holtz Fragments (it's a piece of acrylic for those unfamiliar) and then used alcohol ink on it to give it an old warn look and to play off the "made of glass" title. I then glued the photo to the fragment using glossy accents. For the title, I cut it out with my quickutz hand cutting tool and then used Stickles on top of it to give it some color and blingy dimension.
