This
is for the Lucky 7 Contest. Journaling reads: The year is 2007. We live
in an age where isolation is becoming the norm. Communities have been
lost to the disbursement of the family. As children grow into adult
hood, they are more likely to move away from home to achieve their
dreams, land that perfect job. It is not unusual for families to live
miles apart. My own children have moved hundreds of miles away to
follow their dreams. Just as I did, moving across the country from
California, to Texas, to Missississippi,on to South Carolina and New
Jersey and finally to Maryland. Technology is doing its part to bring
families closer. With the invent of one rate cell phones and the
internet, it is easier to keep in touch than ever before. It is on the
internet that I found a wonderful group of women and men who all share
the same passion - -scrapbooking. This wonderful community called
scrapbook.com has become my extended family. It is here that I joined a
challenge. It seemed simple enough - just take one photo of yourself
each and every day for one month and post it to your gallery. Little
did I know that by putting myself in front of the camera, I would not
only face and hopefully conquer my fear of having my picture taken, I
would also discover myself. I learned to be less critical of how I
look, to look within at the woman portrayed. It is here that I
rediscovered a part of me I though was lost forever. The free and easy
me.
I edited the photo in PSCS adjusting the levels and running the
diffused glow filter. This was then printed on a transparency and
overlayed on cardstock which was inked and chalked. The title was cut
using a Pazzle. TFL
