I showed a photo of this card to the store manager where I had purchased the cute pirate paper. She was so complimentary and told me I should teach card classes...I said thanks, but since I can't drive I would have no way to do that but it sure made me feel good about my work! Thanks, everyone, for your sweet compliments on this card and on my others, too!!!
I made this card for my brother's 78th birthday. Yes, I know it looks “kid-like” but if you can't be a kid again at his age, then what fun is having a birthday???
I am hoping to enter this in the Wednesday Stamp Club Sketch Challenge at My Favorite Things -- MFTWSC139. Here's the link if you want to play along. http://www.mftstamps.com/blog/stamp-and-win-with-this-weeks-card-sketch-4/
I had to alter the sketch slightly to work with my image. Card Recipe: A2 size/Top Fold Products Used: My Favorite Things Die-namics: Rectangle STAX 1, Blueprints 1, Blueprints 2, Blueprints 6 & Retro Squares (used on inside).
My Favorite Things Stamp Sets: PI – Pirate Boy.
My Favorite Things Pigment Ink Pad: Sweet Tooth (stamped “skull & crossbones” with this ink – see inside of card).
Other products used: GP 110 # White Card stock, Recollections Black Card stock, DP from The Paper Studio/Pirate Skulls. I also used Memento Ink to stamp the image and the sentiments. I colored the image with some Copic markers and Spectrum Noir markers. I used Hemp Cord to tie the buton. I also used a metallic silver gel pen to accent his sword.
Thanks so much for taking time to look and comment...I truly appreciate it. Have a Blessed Day!
