great story- love the fencing - I bought my DS lots of Legos- I was deprived as a child wanting them so bad- so he & I would sit for hours - me building him bashing LOL
Love your story. A 92 pound pumpkin! Wow. I love that you still display the photo every year. This is a great design. Love the scalloped squares you used to mat the photos and the pretty borders.
Great story, pics and LO. 92 lbs., how fabulous! Cool that he invested in Legos and saved 1/2 his cash too. I agree, Legos do aid in a child's development, and kids love them too.
We entered a pumpkin growing contest at our local nursery when ds Victor was a 2nd grader and he won! My brother "THE GARDENER" in the family started the pumpkin seeds in styro cups and we took it from there. We broke off pumpkins and let a half a dozen grow and they took off. When we had 100+ degree days, I swear you could see the pumpkins grow. In nearby Half Moon Bay the pumpkin festival winner usually weighs 1500 pds, so we were surprised when they called and said he had won with a 92 pounder! He won $100 and he got his picture in the local paper and that picture is displayed every year at our house from Halloween thru Thanksgiving. Uncle stiil says he owes him half of his winnings. He put $50 in the bank and the other $50 was spent on Legos. Legos were the best thing that ever happened for little boys because for there wasn't much out there for them to develop their motor skills. The small muscles need to be exercised, strengthened so children can develop and master the mechanics of writing. They didn't dress miniature dolls, didn't use their small muscles and basically my kids never went to the craft table. They built Lego cities with the neighbors boys which were built in the living room that we didn't use, so they could come back and have a good time with Legos! I still have the Legos under my bed and my granddaughters played with them for a day and that was it. Sorry to go on, but I feel my boys from benifitted playing with Legos! This is for the Scraplift the Person Before You and Boys Will Be Boys Challenges. THANKS so much for your comments!
