Journaling reads, "Shawna's "pet" flamingo was left neglected in our backyard after Thanksgiving (note the turkey costume). The following January, Terry made a "Save the Flamingo" sign and mailed a letter to Shawna from the Society for the Preventiin of Cruelty to Artificial Animals.
side note: After posting the sign in our backyard, DH shined a spotlight on it. When DD came home, she went upstairs, catching the flamingo and the sign as she hit the landing. She totally cracked up. A few days later, the "letter" arrived. DH went online to our local animal shelter and copy and pasted their regulations regarding animals in our town, changing animals to "articifial animals" all throughout the document. When DD first opened the letter, she thought it was real! Totally hilarious!
