Dear Diane,
I am you 17 years in the future. At 16 years old life for you is very uncomplicated. I want to let you know that life ahead is going to be a little bumpy but these are obstacles that God has put in your way for a reason. These obstacles you are going to face may, actually "will" bring you pain, sorrow, shame and failure. However these things will make you stronger and make you the beautiful person you are today.
You are going to do things that you are not very proud of but at the time seem like a good idea. I can't tell you not to do it because this is a hurdle you "must" experience. In the 17 years until you get to where I am now; You will cheat on your husband, you will get divorced, you will be in many relationships that will hurt you, you will build walls so you don't have feelings for people "but" this will pass. Because even though it may seem like there is a lot of bad things that happen there are a lot of good things that happen too! When you are 30 years old you will have a baby. I know 14 years is a long time or may seem that way but your (our) beautiful baby girl is worth the wait. You will be a single Mom but that is okay because we are strong! There is still bad with the good because for a long time you will be very successful and have a lot of money. You will lose it all, you will lose your house, your credit and for awhile what will seem like your whole world. You will be fine! God has Blessed you with wonderful family and friends and they are your rock! Don't ever doubt them! Life will be hard but everything that leads you up to today will be worth it. Your family is wonderful don't take that for granted!
As I write you today your little girl Megan is 2 1/2, you have two Rotts that are also your babies and a wonderful boyfriend.
Always remember everything happens for a reason! You are who God wanted you to be...BEAUTIFUL AND STRONG.
