This is awesome. can i ask a question. when you put journaling behind each of the pieces of picture, how do you glue the piece down or do you not intend for the journaling to be read?
Wow-- what a difficult time you must have had scrapping this! I love the symbolism of the cut-up picture. I hope that scrapping this helped bring some healing! :)
awesome concept - the broken photo... it's event's like this that shape us too and put us back together if we can pull through them. Very powerful - thanks for sharing!!
whoa, what a powerful, amazing way to show how that period broke you and how you came through. perfect way to document those 7 elements in your life. submit this to legacy (oh, dang, they renamed it, stampington's scrapping magazine, that's what i mean).
I have to agree with Kathy on this (scrap time) She put it great. They way you broke the photo was a great touch in getting the messege of the page across. It is great that you were able to put this out there. Great job.
The way you represented the changes in your life through this lo are amazing. {{{hugs}}} As always, your creativity and sensitivity blend into a beautiful, inspiring piece of art. The "pieces" of the picture represent the major shifts/changes in your life, yet you also included the flourishes and "bling" which show that changes sometimes open up new opportunitities and enhance the goodness and strengths in our lives. Wonderful piece. Thanks so much for sharing this!
That's how I've been feeling, all in pieces. But slowly, I'm coming back together. {{hugs}} And you still managed to add bling! That which doesn't destroy us, only makes us stronger, right? Right!
The first mat pp looks whitish, but it's really marbled light green.
I had a tough time with this one until someone suggested that I put the most painful parts in hidden journaling. (Thanks, Vivian!)
The journaling reads:
Between August & December 1999, several events occurred in my life, any one of which would've been a lot to handle. My world fell apart. It has been put back together, but I will never be quite the same person again.
When I listed them, there were seven things that get lumped into this time period, including (partial list): forced job change, my mother's final battle with cancer, my own health scare, my daughter losing two of her best friends AND her grandmother, and a rough patch in my marriage. One item from the list is included behind each piece of the picture.
