This is just a quickie of some pics I snapped with my mobile ph of my daughter working at her first paid job aged 13! She was exhausted, but proud of herself and I was very proud of her too! She got up early and travelled to and fro with us on the train and I think it gave her an appreciation of how hard her parents have to work and the effort it takes to go to work every day. She even had new work shoes blisters and on the other side of the journalling under the clips is another pic of her at my desk putting bandaids on her feet. The hidden journaling under the paper clips reads:
“On the 18th Dec 2007 during the school holidays, I had to take you to work with me so that you wouldn’t be at home alone for the day. My boss offered to pay you to work the day and you jumped at the opportunity of some pocket money. You made such a good impression on everyone that he said that you were welcome to come back after the Christmas break if you wanted. You decided to work the whole week 7th Jan to 11th Jan 08. You worked hard, you were very confident and I was very impressed with how well you presented yourself in the workplace. It was a very busy time for me at work and you were working in another department, so there was never a chance that you would be allowed to slack off or rely on me. At the end of the week you were able to buy the electric guitar you had wanted for some time and had been invited back in any future school holidays. You are only 13 and my boss authorised me to put you on the payroll officially as a Casual Junior Admin Clerk and I am so very proud of you.”
