Used 2 coats of gesso and then one coat of the color so far ... it's something I mixed out of 5 or 6 colors to get the brown and another 3 colors to get the metallic black, so I'm thinking there's going to be distressing over this, but not a second coat of the same 'cause I'll NEVER get the same shade again ;) I love how the gold and copper paint in the two mixes add a lovely soft subtle shimmer though. It's somewhat lost in the photo, but you can see it's there, reflecting all that gorgeous light back at you.
Maybe I'll make a vellum rose window or something instead of the labyrinth. This thing just keeps evolving as I'm working....
