Audra I wish I were with you to give you a great big hug right now! I am sitting here crying right now and my heart is breaking with the thought of what you have been through. This must have been so difficult for you sweetie. Your dad sounds like a wonderful man, I'm positive he is VERY proud of you! Love ya Sis ~ Mel
Audra....I've got tears. I choked up Honey! HOW precious!!
Your Dad was just so wonderful both to have felt that way towards you, and to let you know so!
I'm so glad that though it must be very difficult to not have him here in the same way today, you will always have him with you in your heart.
He let you know so many important things, that his voice will always be there to guide you in life.
What a wonderful love form a wonderful Dad you will always have to cherish, and you can always know that he is there in your corner, supporting you!
Thank you for sharing this precious tribute to your Father!
Awesome LO! I love the handmade paper and the heart felt journaling is very touching. Your daughter is going to love reading these when she is an adult.
This started out as a 8x8 piece of white bazzill. I used TH peeled paint, and 3 diff cat eye queue's of brown, gold, black, green. I cut out a 6in circle and used my ek corner rounder to scallop the edges of the outside and inside of the circle and used it as a masking technique. The journaling is also from a white piece of cardstock that I inked to get the color and look I wanted. The clock is Heidi Swapp and the flowers are white cs of punches from EK and Fiskers that I inked to to make the color I wanted with a mm copper brad. The flourishes are queen & co. The title is my handwriting that I cutout from white cs and inked. And of course the showcase of me and my dad...The 1st is of my dad holding me when I was only a few months old in 76 and the second was our last christmas in 92, its interesting to see how the adoring looks reversed in the end. The pics are wallets and I turned the saturation down.
The Journaling reads:
Its been 15 years since I heard your voice, your laugh, even your scolding. The touch & strength in your hands, everything you did, everywhere you went I was your shadow. Time spent fixing the car, remolding the house, tv, movies, omelet night. All of your knowledge I soaked in of computers, sound, even cutting the grass! The last memories I cherish are of you teaching me to drive, mastering a standard, getting my license, and helping me pick out my high school ring. Everything you taught me, guided me & showed me helped me become the strongest independent woman I could be. But the most important memory is of our heart to heart talks, typically in the car. These were times that you dropped the father role & discussed lifes issues. I asked you what the worst thing I could do that would test you. You sighed & shared & said "But there is nothing you can do to make my love for you change. Whether I like your decisions I am here for you & will show you I love you just like I did the first moment I saw you."
