Yeah! It's a 'Parma Gazing Ball' as it is known in our family. We are from Cleveland, Ohio, and neighboring Parma caught on to the gazing ball thing for a while... like EVERY yard had one.
well, I knew it was a gazing ball cause I used to have one (till a tree branch fell and crushed it!) but that it represented acorns, I did not know - what a neat way to do that. Love how you captured the reflection of the tree in this photo
Did you know 10,000 fall from a tree and only about ONE becomes another tree? What you are looking at is a silver gazing ball under an oak. There were many under this ancient oak representing acorns and giving a reflection of the tree. Why you ask? Art. And the Arboretum wanting you to think about trees. Would you have guessed what this is if I hadn't told you?
