Made me cry...out loud! Love what you wrote, as always. You have such a beautiful, natural way of writing (and speaking) with such grace and....see, I can't even describe your words with mine, but I'm sure you could find a fantastic way to do it! This is a beautiful lo; my favorite part not being the picture I took (though it was a lucky shot!) but the subtle details, especially the buttons! And looking at it again, I'm in love with the ribbon you threaded down the middle and the paper colors (LOVE those!) and that you even put her/your trademark "bee" on there...once again, hats off to you!
Summer 2008 Journaling reads: This was one of those precious and heartbreaking moments. The best moments like these are ones that are a total surprise. Allie and I were walking together in downtown Wilmington and she reached for my hand. Then, as we strolled, she rested her head on my shoulder. Never mind that she’s tall enough to do that, and never mind that she’s growing up too fast. For this one moment, she was my sweet, tender, loving niece and her attention was on me. A gift you can’t imagine. Sure, I get hugs and kisses without too much trouble, but she’s reaching the age where she embarrasses easily by things like this. I love that her heart spoke more clearly than her preteen defenses could scream. I love that she picked me that day, to stroll with, to hold hands with, to chat with. I love that she doesn’t mind those moments and gives them freely and often surprisingly. I love this moment was captured by her mother, and I love Allie and her gentle heart.
I know this is simple and plain, but I didn't want to ruin the picture with too much..stuff. TFL!
