Awesome. What a great story! Too bad you cant get clothes sun washed-then you could just hang em for the whole process... oh well, hope you get your washer soon!
Well, Great Memory to Scap!!! Those were the days.....
I still remember the old "furnace sized" tall washer that had the "wringer" rolls on top to stick our clothes through the pastry rollers...I hated that thing..! But your growing up, now That's Real down-home washing and sun-drying!!
Oh man I HATED hanging clothes on the line, but looking back there was a whole different fresh feel and smell to the clothes that can't be replicated with fake outdoor fresh scents. KWIM? This really brought back memories!
I love this layout, Glenda. Sure brings back memories! I think I had five children before I had a clothes dryer. I still love hanging clothes out to dry!!
What a memory but believe it or not I loved hanging out clothes and hung them out when i was a kid and after I got married even though I had a dryer I hung out loads of things.. love the fresh smell of line dried cothes!! Thanks of the memory..Fav!
LOVE it Glenda!!! I remember our first two years of marriage, hauling my laundry to my grandma's, washing them on her wringer washer and hanging them out to dry; then taking them down, folding, taking them home -- and gee it didn't even wear me out back then!! LOL!
Great journaling, I remember this well. and also my Dad had to have his pants creased, so we had wire things to slip into the pants legs to leave a crease in them. that way we did not have to iron the crease in them. and yes we had a pole too to hold the line up.
One of the things from my past that I disliked the most. For the Pixel Dust Digi Group weekly challenge, a memory from my past items must not include things that belong to me
