This quilt took me a weekend to cut out and sew. This is just the top, I have not found that perfect backing fabric yet. I liked it so much, I thought I would just hang it on my design board and use as decoration. My mom started me on the quilting. I told her a few years ago, that once I got my scrapbooks caught up, I would start to quilt. She held me to it, and I am glad that she did. I have made numerous baby quilts, and finally made a "Purple" quilt just for myself!! At some point I would like a Long Arm quilting machine to include in my space.... but that is down the road.
What a beautiful quilt!!!!!!!!!!!! How long did it take you to make it???? Do you ever make quilts and sell them?????? : ) Your Americana Workshop is wonderful! My son, Braden just returned last Wednesday from Iraq! We are so proud of him. He is a Captain in the Army. I gave him a slate plaque for his front door area, it reads; America, land of the free, because of the brave! And then it has his last name on it, Anderson! And the background is a painted rippled flag. Love your space~
This was the best way I could combine both of my loves... scrapbooking and quilting. The quilt in the background is my latest project - it is actually on my design wall which I store behind my table space. This allows me to display my latest projects. As you will tell, my room is deocorated in Americana.
