this layout may be quite bright and fun, but it began with some real soul-searching. i had two conversations recently about what it means to be a feminist, and it left me with some feelings i needed to get out. first my sister gave me a marilyn frye article she read for a class this semester, and we talked about if a married, heterosexual woman (like me) could really be a radical feminist. (frye and my sister think not, but i identify as both) later on, i discussed whether or not you can be a feminist and like twilight with a group of women who i volunteer with at the local domestic violence shelter, who all claim to be feminist yet all loved the book. we read an article in the spring 2009 issue of MS. magazine saying how anti-feminist the book is, but all of us had a hard time explaining why we disagreed.
it was fun to go through a bunch of old pictures to find the ones for this layout!
