Fabulous....love the 3D feel to it...so much depth. So much to love about the creation...colors, edges, lacing...it's all so beautiful. And the pic...what a keeper. Awesome, Patty..... :-) M
They were probable just getting out of the bath. You know they bathed outside then. It is really a fabulous picture! What do you mean by antique scrap?
Cool! Ooh La La yeah! I lived in Houston for many years. We always went around naked. Its too hot there for clothes. J/K everyone. I only went naked in the bath or shower. Most likely they had been to a private creek or swimming hole on the property, or at that time, many people bathed outside as many did not have indoor plumbing. They probably had trees or some kind of privacy fencing too or just no neighbors for long distances. Love your cherub and the title so funny and appropriately cute!
WOW Patti!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is soooooooooooooooo Vintage! I thought you got the pic from some Epherima so was so surprised to read it was a real photo of yours! Fantastic work!
WOW....the photo is so amazing, such a keepsake, and such a message in a bottle from the past representing sweetness, naivete, and innocence. I can see why you love it. I especially like the raspberry, blue and lavendar you used on the page. The vintage image is PERFECT!!!!!!!!! for this LO. The crochet trim coordinates so well with the lattice in the photo. Bet your mom will be astonished by this little MASTERPIECE! xxxxxxxxx
you did an amazing job on the distressing...it looks fabulous!!! And I too love that pic....so stinken cute, your so lucky to have the pics you do, I can see youare having a ball with them!!
Wet distressed the pp, tore and inked. Used Ranger Crackle Paint again, added new lace and the Prima flower/vine. Last, I stitched, added the laser cut scroll work over the photo, then the anitque scrap that most likely dates back to the early 1900's from my maternal grandmother's collection.
I ADORE this photo taken in approximately 1924. The three little girls are my mother (on the left) and her two older cousins. I don't know who took the picture, or if they had been skinny dipping, or what. All I know is that it was taken at Mother's grandparent's home in Houston, Texas. This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE PHOTOS.....Mother is the only one in this picture still surviving. TFL
