SHCG: Wait I was going to say LUV the wavy lines. Great use of halloween colors without resorting to Halloween embellishments. This makes the subjects in the photos so much more interesting. LUV you purple and green double mats and the captions.
SHCG: Sharon, just like your wavy pp strips, you and I sometimes surf the same crazy waves. In the shower (where some of my best thoughts occur, second to the toilet), the morning before I opened this link I thought it'd be cool to do a lo of all my Halloween costumes since I had been running through the list with seester. Unlike you, I knew I wouldn't be getting to the lo anytime soon. I love seeing all of yours and some Greg's laid out like this, and recalling all the funny, inventive stories behind yours. Your costumes are the kinds that I think are the most fun. The inventiveness behind you meeting this challenge is the perfect complement, too. My only suggestion is that I really wanna see some type of simple black doodling on the top purple wave, as simple as a trail of dashes behind a spider headed toward your other page. I really wanted seester and I to be an angel and devil, but we were something else this year...
SHCG: Sharon, I really like this page. The double mats are a really nice feature and I also think the colors on this page are wonderful. In addition, you were able to use multiple photos and still have the page artistically arranged. My only suggestion on this page would be to add something dimensional - just something small like some funky colored brads, etc.
SHCG: Great job with this challenge! Love how you used regular papers to make a great Halloween feel to the page, the pictures are great, love your Met's outfit. Love the little skull too :)
SHCG: I love it! Love the waivy pp and the double matting on the photos! The title is great! I like the journaling blocks here! You did such a great job creating a Halloween LO without using anything Halloweeny!
shcg: i love the concept behind this flashback at old halloweens side by side. the colors are fabulous. great job not using any halloween specific anything. the double-matting and inking are perfect.
SHCG: Love the color combos. The inking of the mats is great. All of the PP going across the page really add to this LO. Great photos and journaling (surprise? ha ha).
SHCG: Awesome page... the title is perfect! Love the pp waves... for not being "Halloween" the colors and patterns really lend a Halloween feel to the page. I also like that you double matted the photos; it helps them to stand out.
I love the idea! I have so many left over pictures from previous events that I have scraped, this is a good way to use those pics! I just may scraplift this idea...as long as its OK with you :)
This is my response to Jen/Twinstars’ challenge for Scrap Happenzz Critique Group to do a Halloween LO that does NOT use any supplies that are specifically Halloween-themed.
I thought this was a good opportunity to scrap previous Halloween costumes of ours. Following the challenge, I did NOT use anything store bought w/ a Halloween theme & chose to convey the holiday through my color choices. I used Ellie Pooh cs for the black background, green & purple photo mattes, & purple waves. The light green pp & green/purple striped pp are from a K & Co. pp kit that was FAMILY themed, LOL. The skull was from a Creative Imaginations pp scrap. The orange pp is Rouge de Garance. I used a Shapecutter for the striped waves but I handcut the rest along w/ the journaling block. Hard to see here but I underlined “Halloweens” & the journaling block w/ black stickles for a little oomph; I thought adding any more embellies (though I considered it) might’ve made this LO too hectic so I stopped at that.
PLEASE pardon the imperfect scans; as usual my scanner chops off some of the right & bottom margins here.
