I know what you mean about this paper. One thing I might consider doing is putting the corners and maybe the vine part on a copy machine and making a copy of it, and then cutting ithe leaves, grapes, etc out, inking the edges and using pop-dots to secure them exactly above the ones on the paper (gives a deeper layer to the page). You could also try darkening it just a bit to make them stand out a little more. Just a thought...! Beautiful picture here too!
WOW this really is beautiful pp!! I think the idea of vines would be nice and what about some embossing to emphasize the brick "castle wall"? Look forward to seeing what you do with it! =-)
Maybe some vines around the windows.....you might be able to cut some from other patterned paper. Also a large photo corner (maybe silver) in the top left corner. I love that paper too.
I also have that lovely paper but haven't used it yet. You know me. with myriad details - LOL!! I would add a deckled border around the edges of the paper or perhaps just one edge, and then distress it a bit or darken the edges. Then mat this paper. Or, perhaps you could also add a subtle vine superimposed over the existing vines with some small birds or bird. A title would be a nice touch also.
I have the paper too and haven't used it yet. I think I would just add a title or quote in the bottom right corner, like 'to have and to hold, from this day forward' or something like that.
wow this looks good yes gorgeous paper, have used this one, the cutout window gives a great 3 d effect, tiny lil birds would look cute maybe 2 lil white doves, but i think its great
I think it's lovely. I used that same paper in a layout and thought the same thing. It needed something but not much as I too didn't want to clutter it up. I took my colored pencils and just darkened everything..made the shadows and leaves and grapes stand out just a bit more..using the same colors...it still had that subtle old world feel but with just a bit more contrast. Maybe add a few little flowers mixed in with the grapes and leaves and a couple at the top left....and maybe a title in the bottom right in an old world font or little journaling square in a flourishy design.
I love the old fashioned feel of this paper, and I don't want to ruin that effect. I would like to embellish this layout, but nothing seems quite "right" for it. I like the look of the kingdom through the window, so I don't want to clutter that up, and I want to maintain the feel of looking through a castle window, too. Flowers don't work, and I haven't found anything else I really like either, so I'm asking all of my scrapbooking friends for advice. How would you embellish this page in order to preserve the mood the paper has already created? I'm leaning toward a butterfly or a bird sitting on the windowsill, if I can find the right one. I'd love to hear lots of ideas, and thanks for taking time to look!
