At some time in your life you will be involved in a family portrait. It is one of those inevitable happenings that no one can avoid. Besides being inescapable, these photographic family get togethers are always a kind of organized chaos. Getting everyone together at the same place and the same time, coordinate the clothes, you stand here, you there, ok smile, hey look this way, quit yawning, let's try again, where did Jimmy go?, for real now, 1.…2.…3.…CHEESE! Darnit George, you blinked! Now take this mental picture, throw a dog into the mix, and replace the photographer with yourself. You thought that little cousin Tommy was a handful, he's got nothing on our puppy! I swear she sees the camera and officially transforms into a wiggle worm! I think we should receive some kind of creative achievement award for maintaining our smiles while wrestling a 40 lb. puppy and snapping pictures one handed back at ourselves that actually came out recognizable. I am currently working on a dog training exercise that may help us in the family portrait future. I call it “The 3 S's of Doggy Pictures”. Sit….Stay….and Smile!
