This is fantastic, Love the story and how you have preserved it! I have my Nans machine too, not as old as this and I have never learned to sew on it. I am sure it would have plenty of stories to tell.Love your handmade flowers...love it all!!

I remember using a manual one like this when we went on holidays as kids - there was no electricity (only gas lamps) in the cottage we stayed in, and my sister and I sewed! Beautiful page - I absolutely love it and if I could vote it double fave, then I would!
Michelle, this is sooooo amazing on so many levels....fantastic photos. Seriously, the way you set up those shots are just perfect, like in a magazine. Love how you distressed the edges of the photos. The pps, lstickers, pearls, ribbon, lace, handmade flowers, buttons...and that needle threader tucked in...just so lovely! Haven't seen one of those threaders in a long time! Gorgeous design!!!!!This page is a treasure...just like your grandmother's sewing machine! FAVE FAVE FAVE!!!!
Lo of my old Singer sewing machine that I inherited from my late grandmother. It's a hand cranked not a foot pedal and I actually used this to sew for many years till DH bought me an electric. I'd say this machine is at least 70 yrs old. My Nan would be well over 100 yrs old if she was alive today[ she lived to be 94].The smaller pics are close ups of the decorative details on the machine. Hidden journaling behind the big photo reads"If only this sewing machine could talk...My grandmother, Edna Lewis, gave me her Singer handcranked sewing machine when she gave up sewing in her 80's! I remember her telling me stories of all the things that had been sewn with her trusty machine...quilts for her family, clothing for her children and even canvas sails for Pop's boat! In this photo are her machine, her sewing basket and 4 quilts. The top two are quilts that Nan made and the two on the bottom were made by me. I learned to sew on this old fashioned Singer!" . I made the lace flowers in the corner and the buttons in the center of the flowers are old buttons that I found in Nan's sewing basket!I also tucked in an old metal threader that I found with her machine. TFL!
