Oh Hel, I thought I commented on this ages ago, it hits so close to home. I've often wondered about the huge empty lot on the right side of main street (the only street). I'm assuming the "fire" turned that part of town into the parking lot it is today. How lucky you are, having that great picture to scrap! You did one hel-ov-a job on the whole layout. Kudo's, my dear...
Wow!! how awesome are these photos, I'm forwarding this on to my dd and her dh, he is a history buff so I know he will love this. Love your technique and that key is amazing....so glad you re posted this I love it, makes me want to go back and re do mine this old style...I still have 2 pics of Roy...can't get too many eh!1 and might take a page out of your design book hehehe...tks
I don't understand why you wrote "it was scrapped in a much older fashion". I like it and prefer this type of scrapping. IMHO, it is more in tune to what scrapbooking is all about. Amazing work!!!
Hel, you did an awesome job on the vintage page! All the embellies frame the photo perfectly. And that paper is very vintage looking. Awesome job!.......Kim
OK, I scrapped this heritage lo years ago. Thought I had posted but couldn't find it so am posting it now for Slywalker (Leslie). She just did a lo of Roy, WA & it just blew me away. dh's grand father was born & raised there & this pic was taken there in the local tavern in the early 20's before the fire. That's him standing 2'nd from the left. Note that some of the men are holding rifles & some have pelts or furs. Like I said, I did this years ago so it was scrapped in a much older fashion, not your newer style. I used lots of inking, Quick Quotes sayings, fibers & burlap. The key is real. Thanks so much for looking!!
