Love the photo. Wet distressed, sounds awesome...what is it? Love the lace, it has an amzing story attached to it. The wax seal is really cool, I haven't seen that anywhere else. You have some really cool techniques in your bag of tricks. Well done!
Holly Molly Patty..................this is a real BEAUTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All the antiques are really STUNNING as well as your job here!! A fav for sure!!!!!!!
love the title. What a gorgeous layout. I so like how you can take a photo that someone may not think to scrap and how you make such a beautiful layout out of it. You make me look at my photos in a differnt way now. great job....
So appreciate all you include on how you do things and what you included in the LO too-thanks for that! Love the photo and your design and the title work-perfect! jen
Love all the beautiful work you've included here, Patty! All your efforts certainly have paid off; LOVE this stunning layout and the photo is precious!
Wow Patty! What a special photo. It makes me think about what the olden days must have been like!! I adore the way you used the lace to wrap around the precious photo, and that sweet as can be little bow at the top!!!!! I just love that your grandfather had his camera with him while taking his lovely lady out on a date!! My kind of guy! hehe He must have just adored her!! :)
Oh, Patty! what a spectacular layout! and such a great photo! your details are amazing! I always love reading your "ingredients" - your layouts will be cherished, and probably fought over :)
You have captured the legacy of our scrapbooks in your title, Patty. THANK YOU. I love your grandfather for getting that moment on film. Amazing. And the photo must be authentic cuz who wears pearls to a park?? Sooo sweet :) Beautiful techniques and designs, especially with some real vintage findings, like the button and special paper, handed down to you. (hmmm..I guess that means I'm handing down buttons "made in China" to my kids...food for thought) GORGEOUS lo, Patty!!!
Patty - This lo is GORGEOUS! Your gm is beautiful! I love all the delicate details but especially the lace. The pps are perfect and I love the wet distress technique. Wonderful heritage page. Ginger
Patty, your title/quote gave me goosebumps! You've created another very precious keepsake and I loved reading about all the different elements you used. What better thing to do with the Belgian lace than to use it on a heritage page?? Genius! Your ideas and techniques are always creative and inspiring. I love studying your heritage pages and learn a lot from each one. Another fave for me.
On this LO, the following techniques were used: wet distressed, folded, crackle painted, gathered lace, machine stitched and inked. The pp is Classic K by K and Company. For the title, I used a font called "Carbon Type" Interesting embellies are the old button in the lower, right corner. It is an antique from my DM's collection. Also, the authentic antique scrap in the lower right corner, is from the collection of my DGM (seen in the picture), and the lace was brought to me from Belgium over 30 years ago by my parents. You will also notice a "wax" seal in gold tones and a white crest-like object made by Melissa Francess.
The photo of my maternal grandmother was taken by my grandfather when they were courting, circa 1920. They were at a park and she was leaning over the water fountain to have a sip of water.
