They do this in Thailand, too. If you want a Coke to go, they pour it in a plastic bag, add ice and a straw, and tie it off with a rubber band. I love your row of jars at the top echoing the row in the main photo.
I am not so sure that I could drink a soda that way! I would love to see pics of you doing that! What a cool lo - this is so interesting to see. I really like all of the little embellies that you cut out. The eggs and tomatoes are so cute!
I love the jars and the eggs! This is awesome Marlene! I especially loved reading your journaling. I doubt that I could've figured out how to drink a Coke out of a bag! LOL
Journaling: Small family owned/opertated stores are common. Usually, their home is in the back. The composite picture is the largest in the community. All 4 walls are covered flor to ceiling. The woman on the left had brought 4 or 5 eggs in the cloth she is holding and sold them. The bottom right photo is a very small store. From outside you ask for what you want, the whole transaction is done through the gate. The left photo is a store almost across the road from Kyle's house. Hidden journaling: Good sold vary from store to store, but almost all sell minutes for cellphones, snacks and Tonia beer. I bought a Coke from the store by Kyle's. It was poured from the bottle into a plastic bag and the top was tied into a know. A corner is ripped and you drink through the hole. There is definitely a trick to it.
