SHCG: Very cute! I like how you kept it all in one column... looks very neat & tidy. The colors are great too! My only critique is also to change the title font... it's too stern!
SHCG: Cute! Love the simplicity of this, the only comment I have is that the top photo looks a lot darker than the bottom one and since it's digital I'm guessing you can play with the colors a bit to make them more even.
SHCG: I really like your blue background paper and how it looks wrinkled and distressed. I do have a couple of suggestions for this page. If you can, I think that bottom picture should be resized to the same size as the top picture. To make room for it, you could crop the brown, patterned paper at the bottom of the page. I also really like Brenda's suggestion about changing the font. This should be such an adorable gift for your grandparents!
SHCG: Great use of complementary colors. I love the stitching for the same reason Sharon noted, and I agree with the comments about placement. One more critique I have is that although I like the title font, it doesn't seem fitting here. It reminds me more of military lettering or wanted posters or construction zones. I think I'd like to see something just as bold and in all caps but with more whimsy. Too funny that you noted in your journaling that some of those cute smiles of his were gas induced!
SHCG: What a super great idea! Digi is the way to go! You did awesome job here! I love the design! I love the buttons, the stitching, the heart pp, the scalloped borders..everything is super cute! I think it looks just great the way it is!
SHCG - Chris, what thoughtful gifts you have in the making! And digi is the way to go for making multiples of the same thing without going nuts (i.e. the way making 3 copies of trad paper albums would probably do). Oh how I love these pics... so amazing to see his personality shine a few days into his life & to view how much he's grown since then. I dig the colors/elements on this page - the textured blue background looks fantastic & I appreciate how the x-stitching is on the right side on one line & the left on another (nice framing). While I normally prefer off-center placement, I think it works here. But I could see doing what Michelle says - moving things off center & putting the journaling to the side... if you did that, you could squeeze in another pic of precious JOEY! Adorable job anyway as is. :)
SHCG: Adorable pictures! I like the font you used for the journaling and what a funny story. It is a bit difficult to read the journaling and I hope it shows up in person more so than here. I can't decide if I like the center placement or not. You could consider moving the journaling to one side and then move the rest closer together ( I hope that makes sense). This is going to be a wonderful gift.
I've decided to make 8.5x11" albums for our grandparents this year as Christmas gifts. Normally I wouldn't even bother, but with our family addition, I figured why not. I plan to make about a dozen digital layouts to have printed off and buy pretty binders to put them in (hence the size of the pages).
I don't do digital very often, so critiques/critcisms are welcomed.
