What an honest page about yourself. You scrapped it beautifully. I just love the story behind this page & your handwritten journaling...fantastic work...
That my be a troubled confused teen in the picture, but she seems to have definitely grown into an insightful, caring young woman. What a moving story - future generations will love your honesty - they will have no doubt who you were and how you got there. This is a beautifully touching lo.
Ah, if we could only go back in time and talk to our teenage selves....what wisdom and insight we could pass on. THis is a beautiful and touching page about yourself, Jessica, and I really appreciate how you shared your intimate thoughts about this time in your life. Yes, this photo is so wonderful, and the design is fabulous!
This is so beautiful and moving and really touched me. I love the honesty. I think it's important to scrap with feeling and you did this perfectly. Lovely design and a beautiful work of art. Into my faves.
Wow!! You are such a "deep" person and I love that about you. That fourteen year old in that picture is not only beautiful but she developed an amazing way with words...she truly became a poetess or maybe she always was one :) This is stunning and I am so happy that you have this picture.
what a lovely and touching page;your journaling shows so much wisdom and insight, and I hope this was therapeutic for you...tell that sweet teenager in the photo that she's doing just fine!!
Wow...gorgeous LO! Love the ribbon weaving! What a great photo too! and yep those teen years are hard enough for everyone without the added stuff you had to deal with!
This is the most awesome layout and journaling! I can't tell you how much your heartfelt words have meant to me today. I had a dysfunctional childhood as well (my dad was an alcoholic) and it is still hard for me to talk about it to this day. Your layout is absolutely beautiful, as is the person who created it! Thank you!
Your journaling is so honest and telling; very true to your heart. However, those difficult years manifested themselves into this beautiful LO. Very pretty red ribbon and stitch work framing this wonderful tribute to the strong child you used to be. Give her a hug for me too.
What a very pretty layout and precious photo indeed! The journaling is both sad and moving but shows that happier times occurred in later years. Beautifully written!
Gosh, I was really touched by your journaling. I'm so sorry to hear about your though youth due to your parents' divorce. I think this picture is so precious. You look beautiful and it is a wonderful memory to your childhood. Such a gorgeous layout!! And I'm so happy you became such a beautiful and confident personality though. You are a great woman! Big hugs!
oh my.. a very cute looking young lady there.. luv your design and so touched by the wonderful piece of journalling ...what doesnt break us makes us stronger...and I am sure this is true for you
your heartfelt journaling really touched me. my parents divorced when I was just seven and I too went through some chaotic times in my teens. glad you came through the other end shining & stronger. I'd like to think I eventually did too. love the pretty colours in your LO and the photo of you is lovely. a wonderful LO!
You look so pretty on the photo! It dont show your Hard time and Im glad you are this gorgeous lady today!!! Many hug to you and the little girl inside. beautiful lo!!
Such a wonderful photo of you! Thank you for sharing your story with us. I am so sorry you had to go thru such tough times. I can only hope you came out stronger for it. I wish I could give a hug too!
Love the wonderful techniques you have included here - the ribbon weaving, the folded corners, the lace touches, and the photo tucked into the cut work flowers. Love the journaling and how you so want to help this sweet girl out before her time. Perhaps she needs a hug, but she also needs to know that she turned out OK! Wonderful actually. That it is all OK. And that in the process, she gained wisdom that most do not have.
While I'm blessed to have a number of photos of myself as a young child, I have exceedingly few from about the age of ten onwards (chalk that fact up to the demise of my parents relationship, which really started to deteriorate around that point in my life). By the time they'd actually divorced a couple of years later, I can't even remember seeing the camera come out of hiding most of the time unless it was for a holiday or birthday. As such, this photo (in which I'm teetering on turning 14) is exceedingly priceless to me. Snapped on a sizzling hot summer evening, this image speaks volumes to me. It stands for a very hard time in my life that straddled the dysfunctional years of my early childhood and the chaotic (and ultimately no less dysfunctional) world I'd go on to create for myself in my teen years. Though some degree of peace eventually came my way and I got past though trying times, when I look back at the girl in this picture, I just want to reach out, give her the biggest hug and let her know that eventually those stormy years will pass.
~ Heartfelt thanks for out my page. Any questions about this LO, please don't hesitate to ask. Wishing you a blissfully creative day!
