Every parent longs to hear those three magical words come from their childrens mouth: "I love you" . I been waiting four long years to hear those very words utter from my son's lips. It is not something to take for granted as every parent of a non-vocal or special needs child will tell you. it is someting I long for, hope for, and pray for. Yes, I know down deep my child loves me. But like every parent I am selfish and I want to hear it. I want to have that experince.

Kai has known the sign for I love you for awhile now. But he has never just came out and said it. He has to be promted. Basically, you show him how to do it, tell him you love him first and hope for a response.

Today is the first day, Kai told me he loved me on his own. His own terms, his own timing. He came up to me with those big blue puppy dog eyes.. sat next to me.. looked me right in the eyes and said. "Mama, me you". No, I wasn't those three magical words exactly, but I knew what he ment. In that small moment in time, my heart melted. Tears formed in my eyes and this mommy had an emotional break down. By this time Kai had did his work, had jumped off the couch already and was off playing. But I sat there in a daze. For awhile I thought I was dreaming. I had to pinch myself to see if it was real. Real it was.
