The pocket is made from the snuggie & has journaling inside that reads:
AHHH yes the SNUGGIE!!! For months leading up to Christmas hubby & I laughed about the snuggie commercials. He kept telling me he was going to get me one for Christmas and I kept saying you better NOT!!! They are the most ridiculous things I have ever seen....who would buy a blanket coat with sleeves!!
Fast forward to Christmas....good food....good company and now its time to open presents. Our middle son Jakob brings me a package & says "Here momma this is for you from me & Nikki". He had that same proud loving little boy face on that he used to wear when he would bring me macaroni art and my heart spilled over with love. I knew the kids had been saving money waiting for the arrival of a sweet little one so I never expected anything....having them with us for the Holiday was all I needed & wanted!! Imagine my surprise and now I will admit HORROR when under the beautiful christmas paper lie a dreaded SNUGGIE!!! My mind raced....what do you say thats nice about a snuggie???......suddenly mom powers kicked in!! I tore the snuggie from the package and threw it around my shoulders like it was a magnificent fur coat....it did kinda smell like something dead!! The boys howled with laughter & when Jakob asked "Do you like it Momma?" I did a spin and said "Of course I do.....I LOVE it!!" They laughed....and laughed & LAUGHED!!! At first I attributed their laughter to the fact that I was wearing a blanket coat with sleeves but they just kept LAUGHING!! & I knew something was fishy!!! dear sweet Nikki finally couldn't take it any longer....I think she was worried about me breathing the toxic fumes coming from the snuggie!! she pulled me aside and spilled it all!!! Would seem my darling husband wanted to test if I practice what I preach....ALWAYS be a gracious recipient......& at the same time prove he was right....I would love a snuggie! soooo he put Jakob up to giving me a snuggie for Christmas. I guess I passed in that I was a very gracious recipient and I suppose he was right I did LOVE that snuggie but only because it was from the kids.....I still think they are ridiculous!! The best part of the whole story though is....the boys still don't know I know how NAUGHTY they were....thats why this journaling is in a snug little pocket. I made all of them snuggle under it and took tons of pictures but they still have one coming!
Later in the eveing Jakob & Nikki gave me a beautiful dragonfly necklace & who knows maybe one day if I am feelin' froggy I'll wear the snuggie with it!!
It's moment like these that make it all worth it!!!
