Loved reading your story Pat and I think I have told you before that I believe that your heart is sooo in the right place and I respect you so much for it, This is such a beautiful lo and the pic is fabulous and so reminds me of my daughters horses Kingmanship and Diamond Dealer who also returned the "tickles" and "scratches" in such gentle ways with their lips. Love this :))
Precious baby! one of our first babies was like that..she always wanted to be up close sniffing and snuggling.. the love from a horse is never forgotten. I'm glad her new owners love her so much.
such a sweet/tender story to go along with the sweet photo and lo. I love the BIG heart framing the sweet pic. and the cluster of embellies is PERFECT.
Spectacular color blue for that photo. Makes it really pop and adds such contrast and definition. Your LOVE letters are also very cool - so nicley designed and placed.
Great story, Pat! sigh, I miss my "horse days". Love this LO! quite a departure from your usual style and it looks awesome! Really like the clustered embellishments, the 'scribbled' title and the doodling!!
Love the simplicity of this and the ability to use a hodge-podge of things to make it all come together. I wish I was in your group, this would be fun to scraplift. Your story brought a happy tear to my eye!
This is a photo, taken a few years ago, of my younger daughter and one of our home bred babies.
This filly was out of my cross country mare, and was one of the sweetest babies we ever raised. She was interested in people from the moment she hit the ground. As soon as she was on her feet after being born, she was sniffing me and my pockets and asking me for love. She continued that affection for people as long as I knew her. Here she's returning the scratching that Amy's giving her on her tummy.
I sold her as a two year old, and when her new family took her for her under saddle training, the trainer asked them, "do you want to sell her?" When they said, "no," he asked them, "Can you get another one just like her? This is the greatest youngster I've ever started."
That's a good message to get - first that she's making such a great impression everywhere she goes, and second that "no, she's not for sale, ever." Means that her family loves her as much as we did.
This layout was done for Week 1 of the Round Robin challenge.
I plan to put it in the Doodle challenge as well, and also the Leftovers and Scraps challenges. May put it in the Single Photo one too - I'll have to wait and see how the rest of this scrapping month goes.
