Charlotte, what a touching, beautiful LO in memory of your precious little friend. I am so sorry that she had to go through this. And Justin Moore's song is one of my favorites.
I know how much you loved her - I remember your older, beautiful layouts that you created about her. This one is just so wonderful, awesome, and amazing. I know she is looking down on you and smiling, my friend.
This is absolutley gorgeous and what a beautiful heartfelt tribute to Violet...the lyrics bought a tear to my eye. How sad someone so young can be taken away!!
I am so sad for you... she was obviously so special, and I am so sorry that she had to fight such a battle at such a young age. What a beautiful and stunning tribute you have created here. xxxx
It's been awhile since I have done any LOs on sweet Violet. I have been thinking about her alot lately. I miss her roaring laugh and her practical jokes, only to get to give her hug and hear her laugh..Punky made me smile so much. For those who do not know Violet's story. Little Violet fought a battle with brain cancer and now she is in peace and received her angel wings on 12/6/10. My heart has an empty hole that will never be filled. I loved her like she was my own daughter. The title of this LO came from Justin Moore's Song " If Heaven Wasn't So far Away" whew, if that is not true: Here are the lyrics:
Every day I drive to work across Flint River bridge A hundred yards from the spot where me and grandpa fished There's a piece of his old fruit stand on the side of Sawmill Road He'd be there peelin' peaches if it was twenty years ago And what I wouldn't give To ride around in that old truck with him If heaven wasn't so far away I'd pack up the kids and go for the day Introduce them to their grandpa Watch 'em laugh at the way he talks I'd find my long lost cousin John The one we left back in Vietnam Show him a picture of his daughter now She's a doctor and he'd be proud Then tell him we'd be back in a couple of days In the rear view mirror we'd all watch 'em wave Yeah, and losing them wouldn't be so hard to take If heaven wasn't so far away I'd hug all three of those girls we lost from the class of '99 And I'd find my bird dog Bo and take him huntin' one more time I'd ask Hank why he took those pills back in '53 And Janis to sing the second verse of "Me and Bobby McGee" Sit on a cloud and visit for a while It'd do me good just to see them smile If heaven wasn't so far away I'd pack up the kids and go for the day Introduce them to their grandpa Watch 'em laugh at the way he talks I'd find my long lost cousin John The one we left back in Vietnam Show him a picture of his daughter now She's a doctor and he'd be proud Then tell him we'd be back in a couple of days In the rear view mirror we'd all watch 'em wave Yeah, and losing them wouldn't be so hard to take If heaven wasn't so far If heaven wasn't so far If heaven wasn't so far away So far away So far away I used the "Now and Zen" May's kit at Scraps of Darkness. This month the "Now and Zen" kit will take you on a trip to the Orient with beautiful vibrant colors and Asian themed papers and embellishments.
