WOW! What a moving story and I love how you scrapped it, with the torn edges and the butterflies flying off while she stayed. Now I wonder what happened to her.....
This is a picture of my Great Aunt Zofia, taken in Poland in the early 1930's. This layout is going in the heritage book I am doing on my Grandmother's side of the family, the Wojcik Family. The book will be themed in Purple, which was my Grandmother's favorite color. I often wonder what became of my Great Aunt Zofia and her family. She was the only one of the 7 children who stayed in Poland, the rest of her brothers and sisters all came to America. The 6 butterflies on this page symbolize her sisters and brothers who left the old country. The torn pieces of paper are from a letter that she wrote to my Grandmother which I copied. It is a heartbreaking letter, and she closes this letter with the words "till we see each other again with God."
