SHCG: Precious. I love the colors you used for this adorable little treat. The photo of both of you holding Caruso's hands touched my heart. I wouldn't change anything on this. I read the other comments about the one photo corner, but I have to admit, I didn't find it to be a problem for my eyes. I like how you did a bit of journaling on the actual pics. Beautiful addition to your family and beautiful LO.
SHCG: These photos are absolutely precious, especially the one of the two of you holding his hands. The baby booties are super cute, love that you got some texture in this lo. I also like the ribbon wrapping. The photo corner is a nice touch, and I'm wanting a mirror-image of it, but I can't seem to find a spot where I'd put it. Instead, I'm opting for a different suggestion--another yellow embelly/element in the negative space left of the family photo that's on the right page. This way you will have a dual visual triangle, with this piece as the overlapping section. I hope that makes sense. I'm liking the different blue hues on this spread, with yellow as a nice accent.
SHCG: Gorgeous page! You've scrapped such a wonderful memory.I love how all of your pages tell a story, and they tell it well. I like the little baby boots- really cute touch.
shcg - beautiful job, Sharon! Love the little details -- the journaled blocks, the booties, the ribbon around your title block. For some reason the photo corner on that one picture catches my attention, but not sure how I'd change it. Great way to get your first post-baby LO scrapped -- using those directions!
This is the only LO I've been able to scrap since becoming a MOM on Halloween '10. Our baby Caruso surprised us by arriving 7 weeks early. He stayed in the NICU for 20 days, a challenge for all of us. But now at time of posting, he is a healthy & quickly growing 6 month old! These are a few early fave photos.
I used Club Scrap Assembly Line Scrapbooking instructions (kind of like sketches for scrapping without photos so you fill them in later, only I filled this in right away) to scrap this, otherwise I'm not sure when this would've been done! I have only been able to scrap a few stolen minutes here & there. The right page is a pocket that houses the 4 page story of Caruso's birth. The booties are from a greeting card my friend gave us.
The journaling squares say: "Halloween Surprise - Your Early Arrival!"
"NICU stay was challenging; you received excellent care."
"You progressed wonderfully…"
"WE LOVE YOU, BEAUTIFUL PRECIOUS BABY BOY!!"
The title is Stickled in Crystal but the glitter doesn't show as much online.
This may not be the most impressive LO I've ever scrapped, design-wise. BUT this is about my most amazing creation to date - my son! - and that delights me beyond belief. :)
This is my response to Brenda's 2010 Biweekly Challenge 23 (Halloweenish), Jesse's 2011 BWC 3 (Bird is the Word, my word for this was "challenging") and my own intermittent Catch-Up Challenges for Scrap Happenzz Critique Group. Thanks for the challenges, Brenda & Jesse!
